FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS?
Does PNW offer dropper service?
Like most of us, PNW dropper posts need a little TLC to work their best. This service can be done at home, but if you're not feeling that grease stain life, we can take care of it for you. Our service program treats your PNW dropper post for regular wear and tear. Learn More >>>
Is this post compatible with my bike?
Your bike will need to be compatible with an internally routed dropper post. If your bike uses a 34.9mm dropper, we recommend using a 30.9mm to 34.9mm or 31.6mm to 34.9mm shim. For more compatibility information, contact your frame manufacturer, or contact us at info@PNWComponents.com.
What’s the difference between the Loam Dropper and the Range Dropper?
The Range dropper is our tried and true dropper design that allows for consistent and reliable performance at our most value-oriented price point. The Loam dropper is an optimized version that’s a little bit lighter, offers lower stack height so you can run a longer overall dropper length in your bike, and it also offers 25mm of travel adjust so you can fine-tune how far your dropper drops. Both droppers pack a ton of value at their respective price points.
Does the Range Dropper have travel adjust?
The Range Dropper does not offer travel adjust. The goal of this dropper was to create a reliable dropper at the lowest price point possible.
How often do I need to service the post?
Service intervals depend on ride frequency, ride type (how many times are you actuating your dropper in a ride?), soil types, and climate. At the very least we recommend you perform a basic service once a year. This includes disassembly, cleaning, greasing, and reassembly.
What size post do I need?
You will need to determine the dropper post length and diameter. You can find the diameter on your frame manufacturer's website on your existing dropper post, or by measuring your dropper post. You can use calipers to determine the diameter or measure the circumference of your seat post and divide by Pi.
To determine dropper length, check the dropper calculator on our website. Each PNW Dropper post has its own calculator on their respective product pages.
Can I add air to the Range Dropper?
No, the Range Dropper features a no-fuss fixed sealed cartridge.
Will the Loam Midcap Bands fit the Range Dropper?
No. The Loam midcap band was designed specifically for the Loam post.
What’s the difference between the Range Lever and the Loam Lever Gen 2?
The Range lever features a forged body and three mounting positions. Without the mount, the Range lever is MMX compatible.
The Loam Lever 2 is 5-axis, CNC’d for a sharper cleaner look and lighter weight, it features a larger sealed bearing, and comes in many colors.
