Our products are trusted by a wide range of retailers, from independent bike dealers (IBDs) to larger players like REI, Backcountry, and Jenson USA. We also work with OEM partners to provide components that riders trust. As a small, dynamic team, we pride ourselves on a customer-first approach and the ability to think creatively and act decisively.
To support our next phase of growth, we’re looking for a Sales Manager who shares our passion for cycling and is ready to own and grow our sales organization.
The Role:
The Sales Manager will be responsible for managing and growing our retailer network, including IBDs, larger retailers, and OEM accounts. This is a hands-on role that combines strategy and execution—you’ll be developing sales plans, fostering relationships, and rolling up your sleeves to make the calls and in-person visits that drive results.
Given our lean team, you’ll be responsible for shaping how our sales organization operates and interacts with retailers, bringing your unique style and creativity to the role. This position requires a balance of big-picture thinking and tactical execution.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales Growth:
- Develop and execute sales strategies for IBDs, large retailers, and OEM accounts to achieve growth targets.
- Identify and prioritize high-potential accounts and markets.
- Build and implement a roadmap for increasing retailer engagement and sales.
Account Management:
- Nurture and expand relationships with existing retailers, ensuring exceptional service and support.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts like REI, Backcountry, Jenson USA, and OEM partners.
- Ensure retailers understand our brand values, product benefits, and support resources.
Hands-On Execution:
- Pick up the phone to proactively reach out to retailers, foster connections, and identify opportunities.
- Travel to meet retailers and OEMs in person, attending events, trade shows, and in-store visits.
- Respond promptly to retailer inquiries, resolving issues and providing product education.
- Manage backorders and work closely with Operations to anticipate incoming inventory restocks.
Reporting & Insights:
- Track sales performance and provide regular updates to the leadership team.
- Analyze market trends and retailer feedback to inform product development and sales strategies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing and operations to align on promotions, product launches, and inventory planning.
- Collaborate with customer service to ensure seamless support for retailers.
About You:
Experience:
- 5+ years in sales or account management, preferably in the cycling or outdoor industry.
- Familiarity working with IBDs, larger retailers, and OEM accounts.
Skills:
- Proven ability to develop and execute sales strategies, from planning to closing deals.
- Comfortable making cold calls, building relationships, and engaging with retailers.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to connect with diverse personalities.
